The CEC is partnering with CHHE member Dr. Owen Duckworth, Toxic Free NC, and other local community groups to host a fifth soilSHOP (Screening, Health, Outreach, and Partnership) in Durham. Residents near East End Park and Durham community members concerned about contaminated soil in city parks are invited to bring a sample to be screened for lead and other contaminants. There will also be resources about protecting health and information about the city’s next steps toward addressing the issue. This is an educational, family-friendly event.
