Dr. Knappe, S. James Ellen Distinguished Professor of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering, received the National PFAS Conference Trailblazer Award on June 9, 2026 at the PFAS National Conference in Tucson, AZ. He was one of just two winners. Dr. Knappe was recognized for his extensive work on discovering novel PFAS exposures impacting global communities, and assessing and reducing human exposure to harmful PFAS.
