Translational Partnerships

David Collier, MD, PhD, ECU’s BSOM, Pediatric Healthy Weight Research and Treatment Center, and NC Tissue Consortium Liaison is a Professor of Pediatrics and Health Disparities and is the Director of ECU’s Pediatric Healthy Weight Research and Treatment Center.
Dr. Collier serves as the point of contact for ECU-based translational partnerships and resources for the CHHE, including access to faculty and students in ECU’s newly forming School of Rural Public Health. He also oversees clinical analysis of human samples in the Brody School of Medicine’s affiliated laboratory facilities, facilitates connections between clinical researchers at ECU and mechanism-based environmental scientists at NC State, facilitates access to appropriate human samples available through the NC Tissue Consortium and works to secure access to human samples not available through the Tissue Consortium.
