On March 24, 2025, the Center for Human Health and the Environment (CHHE) hosted the “Community-Engaged Workshop: Impact-Focused Environmental Health Research,” bringing together environmental health professionals and researchers to discuss best practices for community-academic partnerships. Over the course of the day, participants delved into ethical considerations, trust-building methods, and inclusive engagement strategies tailored to diverse community contexts. Through a combination of keynote presentations, panel discussions, interactive sessions, and collaborative working groups, attendees explored ways to advance community-centered scientific research that addresses pressing environmental health disparities. The workshop was capped by a keynote address from Dr. Robert Bullard of Texas Southern University.
