EPA Administrator Regan at NC State Announces National Strategy to Confront PFAS Pollution

EPA Administrator Michael Regan announced the EPA’s PFAS Strategic Roadmap to confront PFAS pollution on October 18th on NC State’s Centennial Campus.  As described in the article below the meeting was attended by State and local officials including NC Governor Roy Cooper, US Congresswoman Deborah Ross, Secretary of NC Department of Environmental Quality Elizabeth Biser, Community Groups from Wilmington NC and Cape Fear River area.  Highlights included the need to establish drinking water standards for PFOS and PFOA, increase investment into research, limit discharge and emissions permits and the need for better remediation.  After the announcement, EPA Administrator toured NC State labs and met with leaders of CHHE and SRP Center to learn more about these Centers and discuss future interactions.
