CHHE Hires COEC Project Coordinator

Katy May, originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, comes to CHHE with a background in social science and community-based management of environmental issues. After earning her Master’s Degree in Environmental Management from Duke University, Katy spent the last year working at the US EPA’s Office of Research and Development, creating and implementing easy-to-use online resources for community groups interested in tackling their environmental health issues. Katy has in-depth experience working with both urban and rural communities, and is excited to join CHHE and the COEC to promote collaboration and problem solving among CHHE researchers and North Carolina’s communities.
